This page documents comprehensive virtual LaserDisc test projects that combine multiple test patterns, video sources, and metadata encoding features into complete disc images.

Chapter 1: PAL Raw Test Patterns with Audio Test Tones (frames 1-950)

50 frames each (2 seconds @ 25fps) of 19 different YUV422 raw test patterns with various audio test signals:

Chapter 2: Audio Test - Organ WAV (frames 951-1292)

342 frames (13.68 seconds @ 25fps):

Chapter 3: MOV Video Files (frames 1293+)

One MOV file repeated 10 times (full duration each time) with alternating log sweeps:

  • 625-50-i_Moving-Zone-2H.mov × 10
  • Odd repetitions (1, 3, 5, 7, 9): 20 Hz → 20 kHz log sweep
  • Even repetitions (2, 4, 6, 8, 10): 20 kHz → 20 Hz log sweep

Chapter 4: SMPTE Bars with Noise - SNR Tests (125 frames each, 500 frames total)

Four sections testing different noise levels on SMPTE color bars:

  1. SMPTE_BARS_SNR_30dB (125 frames) - 1 kHz sine tone
  2. Noise: SNR 30 dB (light noise)
  3. SMPTE_BARS_SNR_25dB (125 frames) - 1 kHz sine tone
  4. Noise: SNR 25 dB (moderate noise)
  5. SMPTE_BARS_SNR_20dB (125 frames) - 1 kHz sine tone
  6. Noise: SNR 20 dB (heavy noise)
  7. SMPTE_BARS_SNR_15dB (125 frames) - 1 kHz sine tone

Chapter 5: SMPTE Bars with Dropouts - Density Tests (125 frames each, 500 frames total)

Four sections testing different dropout densities on SMPTE color bars:

  1. SMPTE_BARS_DROPOUT_0.001 (125 frames) - 500 Hz sine tone
  2. Dropout density: 0.001 (light dropouts)
  3. Multi-field: 30%, Single-field: 70%
  4. SMPTE_BARS_DROPOUT_0.005 (125 frames) - 500 Hz sine tone

A comprehensive PAL CLV test disc featuring timecode VBI encoding, VITS signals, and the same test content as the CAV version. This version uses CLV (Constant Linear Velocity) mode with timecode instead of picture numbers.

GGV1066 PAL VITC YC

Format: PAL Y/C (Separate Luma/Chroma) Project File: ggv-tests/ggv1066-pal-vitc-yc.yaml

A PAL test tape with VITC (Vertical Interval Timecode) and separate Y/C output. This format outputs two separate files: one for luma (Y) and one for chroma (C), similar to S-Video or professional video tape formats.
